Weather in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

On the Costa Dorada of Mexico, you will find a place called Puerto Vallarta. This is pretty much the mid-point of Banderas Bay. It has a subtropical climate, which means it stays pretty warm in Puerto Vallarta. Today we are going to talk about the Puerto Vallarta weather. We will talk about the seasons, as well as some of the other information that you should know before you go.

The winter season for Puerto Vallarta is from December 22 to March 21. The spring comes from March 22 to June 21. After that is the summer season which starts June 22 and runs until September 21. This is the time that marks the start of fall, which then runs into the start of winter. Although you know how the seasons work, the times and months that the seasons start may come of a shock to some people.

One thing that you will notice about Puerto Vallarta is that it is surrounded by a lot of jungle, meaning that this area gets a lot of rainfall. The rainy season, as the locals call it, comes into play between June and September. However, if you have to come during this season avoid coming in September, because that is the rainiest part of the rainy season. Since this area is so hot, most tourists like to come in December and January. People like to come to this area then, because it is still warm while other places are getting snow. Not only that, but the weather during the spring and autumn months in Puerto Vallarta are the nicest that anyone could ask for.

Although the rain that hits Puerto Vallarta can spoil your fun filled day of playing on the beach, the storms that come through this area are very beautiful. Most areas do not see storms that have this much life to them anymore. The lighting can illuminate the whole sky, and it seems much brighter than what it would be in a bigger city. Mostly because bigger cities have a lot of light pollution. The only problem that people have with the rainfall in Puerto Vallarta is the fact that the rainfall can turn the seawater brown in a lot of areas. This is because of all the dirt that has been washed into it. This does not hurt the water, but it does take away from the beauty of it.

The temperatures for some people can be a problem due to the humidity because of all the rainfall. During the summertime, the temperature can get up to 90 degrees. When winter rolls around the temperature only changes a little bit. In fact, the temperature goes to the low 80's. The nighttime temperatures are the lowest that you will ever find in this area, and they can get down to the high 60's low 70's. Overall, the temperature in this area are very pleasing for most people. However, as you can clearly see, most people like the wintertime temperatures the most. In the end, you can not go wrong with a vacation to this area. Just remember that the weather is going to play a huge factor in when you go and when you don't go.
